What is the suggested application rate of florikan 8-2-12?
Stewart, our resident fertilizer consultant, recommends using 25lbs of Florikan 8-2-12, per 1,000 sq ft. To further simplify the application rate, divide the space into a 10×10 area, which is the equivalent of 100 square feet and apply 2.5lbs or 40 ounces directly under the canopy of the palm tree or other vegetation. Of course, smaller palms will need less fertilizer, which you can apply by hand (don’t forget gloves!) or a hand spreader.
Pro Tip: Your application rate should be based on the amount of square feet under the palm canopy.
