- Maintains interior and exterior of trucks and forklift as necessary
- Ensures exceptional communication skills with vendors and dispatch
- Reads road maps and utilizes GPS to navigate quickly
- Obeys traffic devices and traffic laws
- Follows trip sheets
- Notifies management of issues with truck
- Works ten or more hours in one shift as needed
Education/Experience:
High school education; or one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general information, such as purchase orders, addresses or dispatch instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts pertaining to job requirements.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and develop a conclusion based on information presented. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:

Big Earth Landscape Supply is looking for a new, full time Yard Person for our Bradenton Store. We are most interested in a candidate that has forklift and front end loader/ tractor experience and isn’t afraid to get dirty, sweat, work in the heat, cold, rain or any other outdoor elements that may be presented. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, hard working, courteous to customers and able to understand and execute instructions verbally and written in English.

Job Description Summary: Maintains outside inventory, loads materials for customers and unloads inventory by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Greets customers and offers assistance in the yard
- Loads customers’ vehicles after purchase
- Unloads semi-trailer for deliveries and new inventory
- Stocks merchandise and arranges new inventory
- Keeps yard clean of debris, including but not limited to empty pallets, plastic wrap, etc.
- Maintains weeds in yard using herbicide to keep the yard looking clean and tidy
- Sweeps warehouse and dusts products
- Maintains equipment daily, such as oiling the forklift or front-end loader
- Operates forklift, front-end loader and pallet jack

Big Earth Landscape Supply is looking for an Assistant Manager for our Tampa Store. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and Saturday 8am-1pm. This will be a fast paced, dynamic and physical job, based indoors and out. The ideal candidate will be someone who can assist the store manager, but accept the responsibility of managing the store when the manager is not present. Additionally, this person must have the skills to delegate work, but also the ability to frequently complete tasks too. The Assistant Manager will be required to use a loader and forklift daily and must be willing to learn if not already experienced. A candidate with experience driving larger trucks (ie: dump truck) or the willingness to learn is a plus. Assistant Manager must be capable of working outdoors to load customers, merchandise product or complete physical tasks that involve a forklift, loader or by hand. If qualifications and experience merit, applicant has opportunity to begin work immediately.
