Big Earth Sarasota – Class A CDL Delivery Driver
Big Earth Landscape Supply in Sarasota, FL, is looking for a motivated, experienced and committed truck driver, with a valid CDL Class A license. We are most interested in a candidate who is a self starter, can communicate well with vendors and dispatch and is ready to develop a route that fits our needs and your schedule. Pick up and delivery routes ranging from Fort Myers to Tampa Area. Take home program, flexible schedule and more available for the right candidate.

Summary: Loads and unloads materials from purchase orders using dump truck or flatbed and delivers them to appropriate store or final destination.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operates forklift, front-end loader and pallet jack
- Performs pre-trip inspections
- Drives flatbed or dump truck
- Ensures knowledge of materials on purchase order
- Maintains interior and exterior of trucks and forklift as necessary
- Ensures exceptional communication skills with vendors and dispatch
- Reads road maps and utilizes GPS to navigate quickly
- Obeys traffic devices and traffic laws
- Follows trip sheets
- Notifies management of issues with truck
- Works ten or more hours in one shift as needed
Education/Experience:
High school education; or one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general information, such as purchase orders, addresses or dispatch instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts pertaining to job requirements.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and develop a conclusion based on information presented. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of GPS or mapping programs.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Class A Driver’s License

Greets customers and offers assistance in the yard

Loads customers’ vehicles after purchase

Unloads semi-trailer for deliveries and new inventory

Stocks merchandise and arranges new inventory

Keeps yard clean of debris, including but not limited to empty pallets, plastic wrap, etc.

Maintains weeds in yard using herbicide to keep the yard looking clean and tidy

Sweeps warehouse and dusts products

Maintains equipment daily, such as oiling the forklift or front-end loader
