Blossom-end rot of tomatoes is a common problem encountered by the home gardener. It can be recognized by the dark grey black sunken area on the blossom-end (bottom) of the fruit. This area may be small or cover almost half the fruit. When large, the sunken area appears flat. This problem is caused primarily by calcium deficency in the fruit. In future crops it may be reduced by proper liming of the soil. But, on a crop already in progress, the plant must be supplied with calcium very rapidly to correct the problem. This can be done with SA-50 Brand Blossom-End Rot of Tomatoes.
